I’ll tell you one thing though - for being such a little munchkin, she sure keeps me busy! LOL! In light of being a homebody, and a busy first time mom, I need an easy makeup routine (heck, I’ve always needed an easy makeup routine #notabeautyblogger 🤣). Nothing else will ever make you feel as happy, as Nothing else will ever make you feel as happy, as sad, as tired, as successful, as empowered, as defeated, or as proud as being a mom does. It’s a whirlwind of emotions and it’s overwhelming at times - you literally feel so many emotions at once. I’m here to tell you that if anyone ever tells you that they have the easiest time with their newborn and that every day is perfect, don’t trust them. Babies are learning the world. No one expects it to be easy, simple and perfect, and it certainly won’t be. Sure, some days when I smile at her, she smiles back. Some days she does great with her naps. Some days she is the happiest baby. Some days go smooth as can be. Some days I feel like I am super woman. But some days.. Some days are hard. Like, really hard. Some days I don’t eat until 8pm, or I can’t remember if I even brushed my teeth. Some days she cries, I cry - we all cry. Some days nothing gets done around the house. But through it all, I learn strengths I didn’t know I had. I feel love that I didn’t know I could feel. And, no matter what, I keep going. This little milk monster sure does love chuggin’ This little milk monster sure does love chuggin’ mama’s milk - the proof is in the smile and the milk face. 🥰😂 However, her doctor believes she has a milk protein allergy. Ya know what that means? If mama wants to continue breastfeeding, then mama needs to eliminate all diary. 🥴 Well, I’m not willing to give up breastfeeding, so eliminating dairy is what’s going to happen! I’m pretty sure this will be one of the hardest lifestyle changes for me to make, but it’ll all be worth it for my baby. Sure, I’ve eaten super healthy or had a stricter diet throughout life, but I’ve never been told that I CAN’T eat something. I’ve always had the choice. Anyways, cooking dinner last night I realized that even our dang breadcrumbs had dairy in them - who would have thought?! Needless to say, dairy is in a LOT of food and food products that you wouldn’t expect. Chips? Cereals? Deli meats? Yup! Many of them have dairy too. Crazy!! On that note, any of you dairy free peeps have any tips, tricks, recommendations for this journey I’m embarking on? One month old. How? Time has flown by. I know ever One month old. How? Time has flown by. I know everyone said it would, but holy. This beautiful girl steals our heart more and more every single day. That first picture though - she’s not sure if she is happy to be dressed up or not lol. I just adore her… even if she doesn’t like naps during the day. 😅🤣 However, she is sleeping most nights 3-5+ hour stretches, eats like a champ & lovessss bath time. I honestly couldn’t imagine a day without her and I can hardly remember what they were like before either. Also, I’m so glad we managed to sneak in a maternity shoot before she made her entrance to the big world. I’ll cherish these photos forever. In typical new parent fashion, we took Kinsley’s In typical new parent fashion, we took Kinsley’s 1 week photos a day late, and here we are posting them 2 days late. 👨‍👩‍👧 #momanddad #newparents In just one week, this beautiful girl has managed to pee & poop on me, try to suck on dads nips, eats like a champ & sure fills those diapers up nicely. 😂 We are exclusively breastfeeding and boy, what special moments those are … until she tries to rip my nipples off with her little razor blade finger nails. 🥴 But ya know what, we wouldn’t have these special moments any other way. Kinsley Grace, your smiles are contagious, and we often find ourselves mimicking your little faces while watching you make them.
